zoloft hurting not helping?
Posted July 23rd, 2011 by time2stop
As I thought about my picking history, I've only had a major problem twice in my life--now, and back in 2002-2003. Both times, it's been when I was on Zoloft. Could it be that the Zoloft is actually causing the picking, perhaps by increasing anxiety as a side effect? Anyone else pick worse when on Zoloft?
I am not getting better but worse...I'm desperate at this point. I do not feel in control of my picking, I really want to stop but I am having a lot of trouble.

I can recommend a reputable pharmacy (Zoloft) - www.24tabs.org I received the order and it was on time and the pills work great.

I've been taking generic Prozac for several months now, and my picking has been much worse, or at least intentional. I wasn't sure if others felt worse from medication... I don't feel so alone.

I recently had my dose of Zoloft increased and I have noticed that I am picking A LOT more than I use too. I think I may need to switch meds...

I've been picking at my scalp for 12 yrs. I'm a 36 yr. old mother of three. And now that you mention it, I started taking Zoloft 12 yrs. ago (right after my daughter was born). I take 50 mg. a day. I'm wondering now if I should change meds. But to what? Good luck everyone. WE CAN STOP!

Oh my goodness! I was just thinking that exact same thing this morning. I've been picking for years, but at times it's been under control. For the past few months however, I've noticed that it has become constant. For about the same amount of time I've taken Zoloft. I'm definitely going to talk to my therapist about this.

Hi there! It's been a long while since I've been on this site. I recently started seeing a therapist myself and was prescribed Prozac. I don't know much about Zoloft, but I do know that Prozac has REALLY been helping me. The urge to pick has subsided tremendously and I don't get that tight, anxious feeling in the pit of my stomach anymore. Granted, it wasn't an overnight miracle cure. I've been taking it for 3 weeks now and I'm just now starting to really feel it working. I still pick a little here and there and still went to town on my face 2 weeks into using the medication. But now my skin is healing and starting to look normal and that urge to obsess over and pick at my skin just isn't there. I'm beginning to feel more upbeat and relaxed and find myself thinking more about what I want to do today than worrying about a new blemish that may or may not be on my face. I hope this helps and maybe your therapist will consider switching your medication. Best of luck to you! :)
