Hi, how are you? I think Biotin is an essential nutrient that helps skin stay healthy, and may help skin heal faster.
Insufficient amounts of biotin can cause a number of skin conditions.
This would be benefial for you and to your friends.
Visit this site feel free to read it.

I hope your condition will be better.

Hi Needhelp!
I got on this site several months ago and I read a post that suggested calamine lotion. I went out and bought some and I promise that it really does help. I usually put it on my spots at night. It helps scabs to heal and reduces redness and swelling. Give it a shot!

I have mixed feelings about calamine lotion sometimes it helps and other times it seems to be to drying. I feel for you as i had a spot for 2 1/2 months exactely like you described as i would not leave it alone. Hang in there it will heal

I am using neosporin and calamine lotion. I put neosporin and a bandaid on for 4 hours now i am letting it air out with some calamine lotion hoping this works. Couldnt go to work today as i looked awful and makeup looked hideous. Will more than likely stay home tmrw in hopes it will be better by wednesday...fingers crossed. I never know what to do...leave alone and let it air dry. Doing this forms a scab causing me to pick...keeping it moist seems to delay healing...ugh just dont know!

The thing is it is not a scab. It was on sunday but when i got up sunday morning i washed my and it started flaking off so i helped it now i got bright red skin with uneven skin around the edges. So should i use neosporin or calamine? I dont have aquaphor cream and am not ready to face the public to get some.

Hey Soembarrassed!
By the way you described the uneven skin around the edges of your sore, it sounds alot like what I have. Do you ever have what looks like raised skin that surrounds a healing sore. It scabs up when I put calamine on it, which I think is good because I hope that it scabs up and heals. My sore wouldn't be as noticeable If it weren't for the uneven edges of my sore. Have you ever had this?

Yes and i dont know what to do about it. I think i am just going to let it air out and let the skin breath.

That is exactley what mine does. I can not not pull the skin off as it is just flapping there. I will apply calamine throughout the night and tmrw. We will see what happens. Thanks for the advise. :) hope you are healing and doing better than me :)

Looks a little better. I stayed home from work today. I may tmrw to depending on how it goes today. It is not as red and is flakey so I am hoping the calamine will do its job and the scab will just roll off sometime today or tmrw. Great job not picking and i applaude you for going to work something i can not do while in this condition

Slowly healing. Right now i am left with a shiny pink mark. Not an open wound anymore. Really not sure what to do at this stage. Calamine did help i am just not sure if i should use it anymore. I think i am going to let it air out and see how it goes. I would use the calamine as it goes help. Dont beat yourself up new day time for healing. We all just need to realize we are still the same smart..funny...beautiful women regardless of a few spots

Hi Soembarrassed,
Yeah, it really does dry out your skin, but for some reason that works better for me on certain spots. I think it just depends on your skin type. For me, I have super oily skin, which is why it probably works. I can't seem to find anything that keeps the oil away during the day, even salicylic astringent seems to make my skin oily. I don't really understand why, but I have had some luck with cetaphil antibacterial barsoap. Do you know of anything else that might help with this??

I wish I did! My skin has always been a little oily but the last few months it has been 10 times worse. No matter what I do. I swear I go through hundreds of blotting papers a day. Powder does not work at all for me just makes it look worse. I am going to.use the calamine lotion on this mess I have made as it does seem to help. Cetaphil didnt work for me seemed to leave a film on my face.

Hey there SpottyFace! Instead of using a salicylic astringent, try using witch hazel. It works so much better and isn't as harsh or drying and is actually really good for your skin! :) I use it both morning and night after washing my face and before I apply my moisturizer. It has made my pores smaller and my overall skin tone more even. Also, my skin feels cleaner and smoother when I use it. It feels like my pores are getting a deeper clean than with just washing my face alone. Ever since adding witch hazel to my daily skincare regimen, I haven't experienced any new breakouts, which is a HUGE bonus! The brand I use is T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel. I have also tried the generic store brands as well to save a buck or two but have found them to be too drying and, in my opinion, not as effective. Witch Hazel is also really great for helping wounds to heal faster and has a soothing effect as opposed to other astringents that have proven to be more irritating - especially on broken/wounded skin. I hope this helps! Much love - newperspective

Join me in the thirty day challenge!! As for helping your skin heal, use neosporin or bacitracin on the open wounds and scabs. Put a big glob on the spots before bed. This helps prevent those flaky crusty scabs. Try to avoid getting the ointment on clear skin since it can clog pores. Another thing to try is aloe vera gel (the bright green kind you get for sunburns). Both treatments are messy so put a towel on your pillow. Hope this helps!
