Hey there Needhelp!
You're on the right track! The calamine will most certainly help your spots..but leaving your face alone is the key! When I am able to stop touching my face, I can see a big difference from day to day. Good Luck!!

If you give it your all, you can definitely be clear for your family party (and indefinitely too!). Things that will help you heal: getting a good night's sleep every night, personally I like to take naps too, this is the time when your body heals, and you'll feel better mentally too. Eat a good diet! You'll heal faster and have less problems with acne. I also take vitamin supplements. A couple people mentioned it on other posts, but calamine lotion will really help your skin heal (but don't overdo it- your skin will dry out and you'll be more likely to want to touch your face). Don't wash your face too often, just twice a day will do, with a mild soap, and try to be conscious of where you're putting your hands if they wander to your face like mine. Also, I encourage you to be active on here because having a support group can make a world of a difference. It's hard to carry a burden like this all alone. I am only just now REALLY starting to try to take control of this, so I'm right there with you. Keep it up, this is the first major step to recovery!!! (:

I agree with sunlit_moon...the more you touch the longer to heal...the less you touch the faster the heal time! Took me a very looong time to figure this out.
