Why can't I stop!
Posted October 18th, 2009 by Nikkihm089
I can't seem to stop picking. I have a scab on my wrist under my pinky finger. I have tried everything i can think of. Banaids, armwarmers, rubberbands, the horror stories, rubbing alcohol, and hydrogren peroxide. I am in college and so there is a TON of stress and I fidget and there on my wrist is a nice scab. If I accidentally touch it, rub something aganst it or whatever, I think about it and then 'BAM' then I start picking.

I agree. Awareness is important. you can't hide that you pick. acknowledging it to friends, family and doctor leads to gaining support and understanding.

hydrogen peroxide is that clear liquid that disinfects wounds...you know, the stuff that fizzes up when it comes in contact with bacteria in a wound.

Maybe you could tell us more about your picking problem? Someone might have some advice. You can also start a new topic about your self and picking.

I'm 31 and have been a picker since about 5 years old. I find reading and posting on this forum as much as I can really helpful. I also think it helps to get your "secret" out to your closest friends and relatives.
