LET IT BE - by THE BEATLES -
When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be. Yeah
There will be an answer, let it be.
And when the night is cloudy,
There is still a light that shines on me,
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be,
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
(I personally, interpret these song lyrics as a reminder to myself to *Let My Skin Be*. I hope you can too.)

by Let.it.B ...... The urges to pick stem from anxiety. Screwing up our skin is our outlet. It's a destructive action, but it's how we release our negative energy. Some people eat, or smoke, or pull their hair out. We go after our skin. It's silly - yup! But it's a hormone chemical embalance in our brains, it's the cards we were dealt. HOWEVER - I've read books on this and studies have shown that recovery IS possible, and that we can change our brain's chemical activity by changing our behaviors. Easier said than done, yup! But the glass is half full - so let's focus on the fact that 1. It CAN be done, 2. It HAS been done (people recover from csp), and 3. It WILL be done. (We're going to beat this). ---------- words of wisdom and inspiration ☺☺☺

pertaining to picking .... "choose to change what needs to be changed". examine your practices, your habits, contributing elements, deep seated emotions, etc. find the strength and the will to achieve it with whatever tools and support you can muster. make a plan. commit to it. change the destiny of your skin's health. don't wait. achieve. you have it within you to do it !! -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Sometimes when we lose ourselves in fear and dispair, in routine and constancy, we can thank god for Bavarian sugar cookies. And, fortunately when there aren't any cookies, we can still find reassurance in a familiar hand on our skin, or a kind and loving gesture, or a subtle encouragement, or a loving embrace, or an offer of comfort, not to mention hospital gurneys, and nose plugs, an uneaten danish, soft-spoken secrets, and Fender stratocastors, and maybe the occasional piece of fiction. And we must remember that all these things, the nuances, the anomalies, the subtleties, which we assume only accesorize our days are effective for a much larger and nobler cause. They are here to save our lives. I know the idea seems strange, but it just so happens to be true." -Stanger Than Fiction

I work at Jenny Craig and we always say "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"....it is the same concept with this. When someone craves something and it looks so good, they want to eat it so bad, but then they might not lose weight that week. For us, we look in the mirror and all we can think about is how bad we want to pick. So...I am going to use "no short term picking feels as good as long term beauty!"

I am going to put a post it on every mirror in my house that says "short term pleasure, but long term pain!" A woman at work even said "shorterm gain but longterm pain." I don't like that though because we don't gain anything by doing this to ourselves.

awesome !! ... a place to come to remind ourselves that we ... want to overcome our obstacle .... that we have a purpose .... that we will rise above our misfortunes ... that anger, anxiety and adversity can direct us to something positive rather than negative if we busy ourselves in that direction .... that change is possible and can bring about new behaviours and better results .... and that addictions fool us and our true beliefs .... yes, if we remind ourselves of our internal fortitude and strength and use positive self talk we can overcome the seemingly insurmountable !! we have more strength than we realise.
