I'm a gum picker! Help!

When I was in 4th or 5th grade, in the summer I started picking at the roof of my mouth. I never thought I was doing something wrong. I sat there in the grass and just had at it. I didn't tell my friends. I kept going. It gets worse. We went to the dentist. It was still between fifth or sixth grade. My mother explained my conditions. He pronounced that the roof of my mouth was 10 millimeters higher than it needed to be. He told us that I might have to have surgery, and that I had a choice: He could take gums from my lower mouth or use donated gums from dead people. My problem? I will not take dead people's gums, and I already picked my lower gums to death years ago. He also didn't tell me that my skull bone was visible at the time. In seventh grade, I still had not-could not- stop picking my gums. This resulted in the very beginning of the worse migraines of all time. By eighth grade, I kept having migraines and mental breakdowns, mostly during Spanish Class. I can't live with this, I can't live without it. I need help. If there is anyone out there who has gone through what 'm going through or anything similar, and anyone with advice, please help me!

Brush your teeth in circles and floss. If they bleed well you floss that is a good sign because you're gums are getting stronger.:)
