wounds are HEALING and scars are FADING------> PLEASE READ!!!!!

I've mentioned calamine lotion on this site many times before but I want to scream it out for everyone to hear and to understand that IT REALLY DOES WORK! My skin has seriously never looked better. Being that I'm still in active recovery from CSP, I relapsed a bit yesterday and went to town on my chin. I was so angry with myself but instead of spiraling out of control, I just took a deep breath, washed my face with my antibacterial face wash and applied a thick layer of calamine lotion all over my chin and let it be. This morning, the wounds were already healing over and the swelling and inflamation had subsided immensely! After washing my face in the shower, I applied another thick layer and left it on for about 4 hours. When I washed it off, they again looked even better than when I first woke up this morning. My hopes are that they will be completely healed within the next few days... I will keep everyone posted. My chin aside, the rest of my skin looks INCREDIBLE! I've been using calamine lotion consistenly for the past month and the results are AMAZING! My scars have faded about 50% and my skin actually looks NORMAL. I don't feel so ashamed walking around without makeup on in front of my husband and kids, and when I am wearing makeup, my complexion has never looked better. To achieve the same results, you have to be consistent and use it every night. After washing my face at night, I apply a THIN layer (apply a thicker layer ONLY on the areas where wounds are present) all over my face and leave it on overnight. In the morning I wash my face and apply a zinc-based moisturizer before applying my makeup and then go about my day. I've done this for a month straight and I can honestly say that I am a believer. Calamine lotion has helped with healing my self-inflicted wounds, fading my scars, and evening out my overall skin tone. The best part about it is that it's dirt cheap. I spent $1.44USD on ONE bottle! PLEASE give this a try... I promise you won't regret it!

Hi everyone, I seriously just made an account to comment on this. I'll give you a bit of background first.

I'm 21 years old and have been picking for 6-7 years. I had a forehead full of closed comodones and I picked every single one of them until they never came back. I got on birth control for other reasons about five years ago and the closed comodones stayed away. I'm still on birth control, a brand known for its effects on acne, but regardless my skin is pretty clear and nice looking. I empty the blackheads on my nose regularly and every time I get any on my forehead or next to my nose. Also I pick any milia I get, usually on my cheeks, because I can't stand the feel of them.

Now to the point. I've seen every awful sore you can imagine. I heal surprisingly fast on my own, it usually takes 3 days for an average pick to heal and 5 for bigger ones. I live in Europe and they don't sell calamine lotion here, so I ordered it online for a big price. I've used it for two days, but the point is that i picked a milium today, 10 hours ago, it wasn't SORE bad but I did use a needle on it, so it wasn't going to be gone in one day. I put calamine on it for about 8 hours and it seriously does not look like i made it today. It looks one or two days old and much less red than it should. Now, I don't believe in miracles, but this is it.

Also, I know that the whole forum has been quiet for a while and this thread obviously too, but I noticed people asking questions that newperspectives has already answered earlier (pages 1-4), so it would be useful for everyone to read a bit further back.

Thank you everyone, I read every single answer and it helped me so much.

I have to update, because I know people read these things even years later. I got a bigger wound, all by my own hands, and since it was on my cheek it should have taken about 4-5 days to heal enaugh that the scab would fall off. This was a bigger sore than the previous one, so I slathered calamine all over it every time I was at home, even overnight (overnight use of the whole face calamine masking is not recommended because it might clog pores, but a sore is a whole different kind of "skin", so I didn't feel the need to let it breathe). I wear makeup during the day, so the forming scab wasn't really breathing. And let me tell you, it looked amazing! It was easy to cover even just 24 hours after creating the wound. Now it's been about two and a half days since the mess and it's barely even visible! It has the tiniest scab, a fraction of what it should be (knowing my own skin), it doesn't show under makeup and it's barely even pinkish. This bigger situation truly showed calamine's real potential compared to the smaller wound - the smaller one did also heal up neatly (less likely to provoke picking!) but not as fast, though I didn't keep the calamine overnight on that one, so I really believe that is the secret!

Does clear calimine work as well as the pink stuff on open wounds, acne and scars where I've dug into my sk8n?

Does the calmine lotion work for over exfoliated skin? I accidentally over exfoliated my skin, and it was burning so bad. And now I’ve got tiny bumps on my head looks like a rash and it’s very dry. Would it work for that please?

It's gotta be that pink chalky stuff I've read. I've tried it and it does work. Overnight application is iffy, sometimes it just ends up as a big pinkish crusty scab that just ends up being more of a Hassle to try and cover once you've washed it off...but everyones skin is different I suppose

hi newperspective,, about 4-5 months ago I popped my pimple and it turned purple when I washed my face the purple flesh came off and revealed a wound. I tried everything to heal it aloe Vera, rose water, and polyspoin (spelling?) Iand it still hasn't healed. i still use rose water and aloe vera but it doesn't seem to really heal. im buying calamine lotion today and want to ask would it really work and help heal this wound. im only 14 years old and school os abut to stat again and i don't want to face my friends with is wound still on my face. what makes this even worse is that its in between my eye brows so i have no way to hide it. im too scared to put make up on it because i don't want it to get irritated and worse. so will calamine lotion help heal it? im really desperate.... (sorry if this made no sense)
