I want to help my girlfriend

Hello, My girlfriend has been skin picker since little and hates that she does it. I feel she would relate well with most on this board. She hates talking about it, but I know she wants help. I see her frustration and want to help her, but she struggles to let me in. We have been dating for many years, live together, and we trust each other fully, but this is an issue she still struggles to discuss with me. When it's night time and she is talking under her breath how she hates her skin I just want to help her so much. I know she looked into medical help in the past, but was turned off by the costs (and I think its a struggle to admit the issues). I can pay out of pocket if needed (although I understand it can be expensive and don't want to throw money away). I'm thinking I can set up some therapy appointments with a therapist from this web-site to get her started. Is this the right move? What advice would you have for me? How would you want your partner to help you?

tell her its all icing and that you love the cake underneath and that you will never judge her for this, get her some stress balls and have her write down when she is overwhelmed with the need to pick.

Randy, I think a therapist specializing in obsessive compulsive behavior could help. I'm trying to do this on my own to stop picking my scalp. I'm on my 3rd day of no picking. I think part of it for me is boredom.
