Thoughts about popping VISIBLE whiteheads/blackheads?

Ok so this is day 10 by the calender, however, to be true to the disorder and myself I'm wondering if I need to start back at day 1. I have not done any major sessions of picking, however, I have popped a few zits along the way. In doing this I have been able to pop them walk away and so far not continue to pick the same spot. Is this sill considered picking?

That's how I started, but it escalated from there. I'm still learning about picking myself so I don't know for sure. But for me popping a zit and walking away, which I struggle to do myself but am doing my best to try to do, is better than my sessions used to be. Congratulations on making it to Day 10. So far I have not been able to make it a day yet but I am working on it. ~Anne

I've been thinking about this too. In my opinion not having any "sessions" is a good achievement so as long as you're honest with yourself (which I think this post proves you're being) it's ok to keep counting up the days. I've decided that if I do have a session (which I count as popping more than 1 or 2 spots/picking for more than a couple of minutes or doing damage to my skin) then I will gp back to day 1. Otherwise I'll keep counting up. It's demoralising to go back to day 1 again and again and the sense of achievement you get as you go along spurs you on to keep going. It's good that you're aware of not kidding yourself, but don't be too hard on yourself either. Maybe if you manage to cut down drastically for 21 days, then you can be stricter for the next 21 and challenge yourself to not pick at all, going back to day 1 if you do. Well done on making it to 10 days!! Hope I can do the same.

I bought a pimple popper at WalMart. If whiteheads are visible, I think it's ok to pop them, just don't use your nails/fingers to further provoke them. I'm crossing my fingers that I can do this myself!

Popping Whiteheads is what I call A necessary evil, you cant walk around with them on your face. I have discovered though- if its a tiny whitehead, you can leave it alone and it will likely be gone in the morning, easier said than done though.
