Day 4 of 21- Staying Strong!

I know it's still early in day 4, but I woke up this morning feeling pretty good. When I looked in the mirror, I was ACTUALLY pleased with what I saw. No, my skin wasn't perfect and by no means is it even close, but it's definitely healing. It's not as red and splotchy or raw as it was on day 1, or even compared to how it looked yesterday. I DID, however, notice 2 new whiteheads had formed overnight; one on my forehead by my right eyebrow and one on my chin. As tempting as it was to pick at them, I somehow managed to refrain. I just QUICKLY washed my face, put some witch hazel on, and aloe vera gel mixed with tea tree oil and left the bathroom. I just need to let my skincare products do their job and clear-up the breakouts for me. I realized I need to develop a new way of thinking to create a different state of mind when viewing blemishes and other imperfections on or in my skin. I can either leave them alone and let them disappear on their own, OR pick at my blemishes until they're nothing more than bloody scabs that will eventually turn into 2 fresh, new scars. Two NEW scars are the LAST thing I want or need on my already VERY scarred, hyperpigmented skin. My fiance has also been helping by posting a new, motivational love note everyday on our bathroom mirror before heading off to work. When I wake up and use the restroom, it's the first thing I see and read every day. It not only puts a smile on my face, but it also helps me get through each day knowing that I don't have to do this alone and that he's on my side cheering me on. I'll post what he has written each day that has helped keep me motivated, strong, and moving forward. Day 1- I love you!!! NO TOUCH! :) Day 2- I love you. Stay strong Baby!!! Day 3- I adore your healing face! I'm so proud of you! Day 4- Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm not a picker and neither are you!!! Stay strong babe! I know! That last one was cheesy, but I have to hand it to him, it was very clever :) Good luck to everyone and remember, we're not alone in this and we don't have to be! :*

Thank you! It's been really tough, I'm not going to lie, but I'm staying strong :) I'm very blessed and fortunate to have him in my life, he's incredible! WHEN I beat this it'll be b/c I had him by my side supporting me and pushing me to succeed. Thank you so much for your comments and support as well. It's really been helping me to have someone who TRULY understands to talk to. :)

This was so nice to read :) Not only is it very recognizable, but it also gives me more courage to go on the struggle myself. And it's true, your fiance sounds very sweet! Good luck!
