May 2011

Was on this forum a while ago, and managed to stop for a while. But then I stopped coming on here, and started making excuses as to why it was ok to start picking again, and sure enough, my face is a disaster zone once again. I would love to have nice clear skin for the summer, and since its the start of the month (or near enough) I'm going to try and go the whole of May without picking. Anyone who wants to join me, feel free, but I'm going to try and update everyday in order to stay on track. I know that its possible to do this, but my will power is really weak at the moment, so I must try and stay strong. It's a little bit of a cheat since I'm three days into May already, and have already picked a lot, but I need a reason to start, so I'm wiping the slate clean and going for the whole of May from now.

Hmmph. Bad start. Really really bad start. Just picked a scab that was really aching. I was convinced that if I just took the scab off and dug out all the stuff inside, it would stop hurting and heal. I even snuck down to the toilets at work with my concealer hidden up my sleeve, so I could use the mirror and cover up the damage I knew I was going to do! Can't believe I couldn't even manage a couple of hours. Told you my will power was weak. Added to which (of course) there was nothing under the scab anyway, so I didn't even get that satisfaction. I just hurt my face more. The aching feeling was probably where its bruised from me squeezing it before. Need to keep my hands AWAY from my face at all times. The moment I feel a lump its nearly impossible for me to leave it alone. This is going to be harder than I thought. Determined to make it through the rest of the day.

Im deffinitly going to join I need to get my ankles cleared up for cheerleading soon. Try putting socks on your hands and keep them on at the most you can just rub and count to five then pull away It works for me some and after I go find something to do to keep my mind off the scabs. It's also kind fun to be having socks on your hands and it's a challenge to be trying to pick things up. try it out it might work for you too.

ok, so I haven't been very good at updating this. I have been doing better at not picking though, but not perfect. Which is a bit annoying because I wanted to try and break this habit completely. But my skin is starting to heal. Its the blocked pores that I can't leave alone. And I can feel a bump under the skin on my chin at the moment which is driving me crazy. But instead of going to the mirror, I have come on here to say that I am NOT going to pick it. So there we go. Now I can't. And hopefully that will make me strong enough to leave it alone tonight. Fingers crossed.
