Keratin Hair Straightening and Picking

Hi All, I pick extensively on my scalp, to the point where the girl at my salon thought I was horribly allergic to whatever shampoo I was using. I finally had to fess up and tell her the truth because I was getting so embarrassed during my hair appoints. Anyway...I've been wanting to do the Keratin Hair Straightening but I'm concerned about doing that with my scalp being all chewed up like it is. Does anyone have any experience with this? I know it's a long shot, but it's becoming a popular hair treatment so I thought maybe someone here might have tried it. Were there any adverse effects cause by your picking?
