Someone Help Me, Please!

I feel so down and don't know what to do. Today was my first day back at school (university) and although I do not consciously feel stressed, frustrated, upset, etc. (I'm actually looking forward to starting the new year!), something has compelled me to start picking even more. I was doing really well a few months back and had managed to almost stop picking for a couple of weeks! But I slowly started up again and the past couple of days have been terrible :( My arms are full of scars, I'm creating scabs on my back, face and neck, and now even my legs are getting spotty :( It's as if I drank too much caffeine and my fingers are jittery, itching to scratch and squeeze at every little bump or red mark :( Please, I need some advice on how to get rid of this addiction and stop picking once and for all.

I just joined this site and I have no clue how it works, but I am trying to stop also. I just want to say that I am here if you want to talk. But maybe try getting your nails done. To discourage ruining them. Im not sure. I just think maybe having someone to talk to will help.

Most colleges have a counseling center. A lot of my problems intensified when I went to college for the first time. It was the first time I'd ever seen a therapist before, and it was really helpful. Also, are you on any meds? If it's that bad, it sounds like a combination of medication and counseling would be needed. The good news is, you've identified it as a problem and you want to fix it - you're halfway there!! Don't stop now, get the help you need. You can do it!!
