Dealing with Other People's Scabs

I'm in a relationship for the first time in awhile, and I forgot I always have a problem I have to hide each one. Scabs. Last night as he and I cuddled, I had my arms wrapped around his neck, and there, lo and behold was a scab half way attached to his neck. It was all I could do not to pull it off the rest of the way. Come today when I saw him and we hugged, there it was still, this time healed all the way over, but a good easy-to-peel scab. I kept trying to figure out ways to subtly pick it off. It was just that noticeable. Then I ran my hand against his arm and held his hand. I forgot how easily he gets cut up at his job. Little scabs I somehow managed to not ever feel before dot his arms. Thanks to that one irresistible scab, I noticed a new treasure trove. So, how do you resist picking the scabs off those you're close to? Especially when they have a lot of scabs that could be picked? Do you just suppress it? Do you have some sort of coping tool? Do you tell your significant other at all? What do you do? It's driving me nuts every time I see him now. I just want to pull that dang scab off his neck.
