Problems with stopping to pick my skin

Hello! I have been picking my skin for about 5 or 6 years now and since a few months I have been seriously trying to stop picking my skin. The way I'm doing this is by trying to not pick at all. I've visited some websites about skin picking and basically I've read that after not picking your skin for about a month your skin should be clearing up a lot and your acne would go away, since you're not infecting your skin by picking it. So that's what I'm trying to do right now, but I've come accross with a problem. As I said I'm not popping any pimples at all, but everytime I wash my face with normal water, some of the pimples pop anyway, just because I touch them I guess. This way I keep on getting wounds, like you would get when you pop your pimples on purpose. So does anybody know how I could wash my face, without popping my pimples? I have also tried something called "The Cavemen Regimen", which involves not washing your face at all. But when I did this, my acne became even worse, so that's why I'm washing my face with normal water. I think that if I succeeded in washing my face without popping any of my pimples, I would have a really big chance of actually clearing my acne.

Looks like it might help if you see a doctor or dematologist about your acne as well. This could certainly help support the great efforts you're already making
