Odd Scar, Please Help!!!

Hi everyone, My heart goes out to everyone who suffers from this!!! I have been picking at my skin for a good ten years and it has become progressively worse in the last year or two. At first my spots were always superficial and would heal in two or three days. Then I started really squeezing and digging deeper, which would cause scabs that would take about a week to heal. The scabs always healed up with normal soft pink skin once the scab came off. However, here in the last year, I have really caused some serious damage to my skin. I had two large sores that took a very long time to heal (mainly due to my picking...of course). The skin does not seem to be normal though. It's pink, but its very hard...not the soft healthy normal pink skin which is usually underneath a scab. It also has some residual swelling around it and I have no idea what this is. It's not red or oozing or anything, so I don't think it's infected. Has anyone ever had a spot that took months to heal and was left with weird hard pink slick skin?? Thank you for reading, any suggestions or comments would be very much appreciated.

I've had a similar problem before, I picked and picked at a spot and made a really bad open wound. First it scabbed, then the skin peeled and then the skin went hard like you mentioned. BUT the good news is it will eventually heal! Mine is now just a faint pink mark but each day it is healing and the skin is softer :-) best thing to do is leave it alone and just keep it moisturised, good luck with your skin picking x
