I pick at my legs

I am 28 years old, and throughout the years I have picked at my legs. I believe it began in jr high sometime. My problem is that I cant seem to stop. Its like an addiction, and i'd started with my arms, but stopped that. I am very ashamed of my legs..and no matter how hot it gets, you will always see me wearing jeans/pants. I need help with this, as it is getting in the way of enjoying my personal life. Any suggestions?!
