Hi Orb, I am so sorry to hear that you have had to deal with this, I truly feel your frustration. I have been trying to figure this out for a while. I will say that I am glad that your doctor at least acknowledged the cause of your problems as a fungus. I have everything that you just described, minus the athlete's foot, and every doctor I have been to tries to prescribe antibiotics. I listened and followed their advice at first because...well, they are doctors, they are the experts. Hmmmm...big mistake. All the antibiotics I was put on made my condition so much worse. When I tried to explain this, I was talking to deaf ears. I did the same thing and started antifungal cream, which helped, but the fungus is so deep that I also needed an oral antifungal. Once again I tried asking a doctor for it...my request was denied, as I expected. So...what's a girl to do....I took matters into my own hands. Did my own research and tried to figure out the proper medication, dosage, and duration that I would need. Researched reputable pharmacies and ordered the medicine myself. I am completely aware of the potential dangers of this. However, having open and non-healing sores on my face comes with it's own dangers. I tried getting medical treatment from a professional and I was ignored, so I felt that I was left with no other option. I am getting better but I have a ways to go. I also take herbal supplements that are supposed to be good for general health as well...apple cider vinegar, garlic, msm, vitamins-probiotics...Also, the earth clinic website has tons of information and alternative remedies. One other note, since I am a pet owner, I have also considered the possibility of an overpopulation of demodex....which feed on yeast(a fungus) then the demodex spread the fungus...kind of a viscous cycle...I don't know if that is part of my problem, but it seems likely. Antifungal medications won't kill demodex, but there are plenty of topical medicines and herbal supplements that will. You might want to try attacking both problems simultaneously to speed your recovery. I hope that I have been help to you. Please keep me posted...sometimes its just nice and helpful to talk to someone who understands. Good Luck!!

By the way, would you mind telling me what kind of fungus/condition you were diagnosed with??..I don't have the sores on my scalp or the athletes foot, but the facial sores you described sound exactly like mine. - Thank you

These plugs are parasites. DO NOT LET ANYONE CONVINCE YOUR OTHERWISE …and believe me, they’ll try (ill-informed dermatologists included). The parasites are called Demodex mites. That plug is the adult stage of the mite. Usually, humans are only inhabited by Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis. I suspect you’re describing the Demodex injai, the "large-body" Demodex. You'll want to get rid of these things ASAP and with extreme prejudice. I wound up with an all-out infestation because it took me 7 years, 5 useless dermatologists, and 2 ill-equipped primary care physicians to figure it out. One dermatologist accused me of making the sores myself and suggested I take an anti-depressant. But, don't get me started on that... I even had an elevated IGg because my system was so irritated by them. Anyway, back to the mites …The adults move around on your skin (usually at night because they don’t like light) and give you an itchy, crawly sensation. After they mate, the pregnant female emerges to lays eggs. When the pregnant female comes out, it looks kind of like a regular pimple. But, no puss comes out it-only fluid- and it gets red and irritated if you mess with it. The eggs she lays around the area where she emerged, that look kind of like "spindles." They’re down inside your skin but have little white hairs sticking out of your pores. Those hairs get a little thicker and will sometimes fall out as the egg evolves into an adult mite. Don’t bother pulling them out. The hairs will simply detach and the mite will stay in your pore. The adult mites are NOTHING NICE. They have, what I call venom (for lack of a better word), that causes a sever immune response. If you mess with them, they create this clear fluid that makes a hole in your skin. If you persist, they will make you bleed profusely. I think that stuff is an anti-coagulant too! After you lose the battle (and you will), your skin feels like it's on FIRE. Depending upon how much you messed with them, you'll either have a sore spot that won't heal or a plasticky quasi-scab looking thing …on top of a sore that won’t heal. If you lift up the plasticky scab, you can see the adult mites attached to the underside of it. I say that to say this: DON’T BOTHER MESSING WITH THEM. You will not get them out without putting a deep hole in your skin. They just dig down deeper if you try to pull them out with tweezers. The immune response will make a real mess of your face. You cannot kill the adult Demodex with creams because they move down into your pores beyond the reach of topical miticides. You cannot kill adult Demodex with ingested miticides because they have a hard outer shell that protects them from absorbing the chemicals. If you pinch one of those white plugs really hard with some tweezers you can hear it crunch. (I even tried applying a tiny bit of RAID …didn’t work.) I got rid of the MF’ers with 3 things: (1) Ivermectin, (2) Permethrin SFR, and (3) sulfur paste (all of which I found at the local feed store for animals). First: Use Ivermectin to kill the mid-stage mites. I used the equine version. It’s a paste with 1.87% Ivermectin. (DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. IVERMECTIN DOSES ARE DETERMINED BY WEIGHT. I SIMPLY USED THE APPROPRIATE AMOUNT OF PASTE FOR MY WEIGHT. I HAD NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, BUT BE CAREFUL). Within 6-8 hours of your first dose of Ivermectin, you'll see the mites pushing out of your pores IN DROVES. Because it only kills the mid-stage mites (not eggs or adults), you’ll need to take Ivermectin once a week, for 4-6 weeks. When you take the Ivermectin, change your bed sheets every night, for at least three nights. Also, buy a few extra pillow cases so you can have a newly washed pillow case every night for at least four weeks. I STRONGLY suggest this measure because the mites wreaked havoc on my scalp. My hair has not grown for more than 3 years. You may want to use Selson Blue shampoo for 4 to 6 weeks, just in case. Second: Use Permethrin SFR, which is 38.6 % Permethrin, to kill the eggs. Dilute it in a spray bottle and spray EVERYTHING in your house, including mattresses, couches, carpets, etc. …EVERYTHING. Then, vacuum really good, and spray EVERYTHING again. Buy new pillows too. Wash ALL CLOTHING and LINENS in hot water. Put them in the dryer on “high heat.” I even lightly sprayed the Permethrin solution on the dried laundry, and the replaced bed sheets. Permethren is not really toxic to humans, and it’s odorless once it dries (PLEASE READ THE PACKAGING THOROUGLY). WHILE I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS: I poured ¾ cup of the Permethrin SFR in my bath water. After soaking for a short time, there were so many eggs (with the white hairs) that my bath water had a film on it. I only did this because I had a full-on infestation. Third: Apply the sulfur paste all over your body. It’s a little tricky to apply, so I suggest wearing gloves. Also, it’s really thick and has a strong smell. I used Pierce’s All Purpose Nu-Stock. I had to mix the paste with baby oil to get it to spread. You’re supposed to wear it, kind of like calamine lotion, for 3 days straight. Then re-apply, on top of the first application, and wear for another 3 days. The objective is to keep the adult mites from mating and laying new eggs. I realize this is a lot. But, BELIEVE ME, you do not want to be infested with these things. This has been a 7-year nightmare for me …finally coming to an end. Good luck!

Hi Pthesmith, How did your protocol work out for you? Are you rid of these things for good now? Thanks for responding!

I'm 76 living on the Oregon coast and had severe acne as a teenager with residual scarring. I've been fighting the little white spots I call cores for 7 years. Finally after 1 GP and 4 Dermatologists who were not listening/reading [I wrote a 3 page chronology of my facial problem] and my conclusion that it was folliculitis; one dermatologist finally did a punch biopsy and confirmed that it was folliculitis. Mine is based on a Staph aureus infection [contracted from a hospital surgical staple] but they can be based on fungal infections as well. I am still fighting as this doc won't extract the cores and as you know the wounds won't heal until they are removed. He firmly believes if you leave them alone they will heal while taking antibiotics. I took antibiotics for 18 weeks, nothing healed spontaneously, and when a new round of bumps appeared I stopped taking the antibiotics as it was obvious they were not working.. If I have to go out amongst strangers and feel self-conscious I put Safeway Hydrocolloid bandages on the open wounds, makeup and I'm good to go. At 76 I don't feel self-conscious often but it's nice to have a goto coverup. I am going to see an Infectious Disease doctor next week to see what the chances are of getting rid of the staph. My instinct tells me staph just goes dormant and reappears when your immune system becomes challenged. I'm hoping to get him to "excoriate" the existing plugs that I haven't been able to remove. With moist heat packs at night and simple vaseline I have often been able to reduce the inflammation and extract the cores leaving a clean dermis field which the epidermis [skin layer] contracts over, makes a smaller wound and with vaseline and a bandaid heals nicely.. When I can the wound heals; If it heals over an unremoved core the core pops up again down the road. I find zinc based shampoos work for me alternating with a black tar shampoo for what I was told many years ago was seborrhea on my scalp, this doc says it's also folliculitis - I think it is both as my mom had the scalp seborrhea but ignored it - don't know how she did it, it was a white creamy layer over her entire scalp. Mine would be sore with bloody patches until I got control of it with Zincon shampoo at the time -maaaany years ago. It had to be hormone generated as I broke out in bloody scalp sores 5 months after each of my children were born when my body was returning to normal. Good luck to those of you with the tiny white spots - "insist" on a punch biopsy if folliculitis isn't recognized. The test will prove it one way or the other. Keep up the good fight!

Hi Megansmom, I have spent so long dealing with this, I am at my wits end. After going the antibiotic route, then the fungal route, with little improvement. Im starting to think that there are two kinds of infections involved. I think that the bacteria or fungal infection is secondary to possibly scabies or some other kind of mite. I get red zigzag lines, yellow looking skin, painful little white plugs, oozing clear yellow sores and hard mounds under my skin. I go through a continuous cycle of getting a little better, which is always followed by an immediate setback. I think this is due to the hatch cycle of some kind of mite. I've had cultures done with no answers. I walked in to the emergency room today and demanded to be helped. Nobody ever takes me seriously, I'm very quiet and passive and I tend to get over looked most of the time. But I woke up this morning with a swollen face and miserable. I decided to take action. They almost admitted me, but my blood work came back normal. I got some antibiotics and anxiety medicine was sent home. There is a place here in florida with infectious specialists and Im calling on monday morning to get an appointment. There is an answer for this but I don't have the ability or the resources to figure it out on my own. I will get to the bottom of this, I will not let this win, I will get better. I am happy to share any knowlege I gain from this if it helps someone who is suffering. I hope that you get your answer too. I wish you the best.

Hi: Please read my post here http://www.skinpick.com/node/3783 that talks about nasty white roots and possible cure. Finally found a lady that knows how to treat. Many of the photos I have are identical to morgellon pics so I am going to ask if it is possibly the same condition.

December 14, 2015

i have same issue on both sides of my face. how long does it take to get in control.

December 15, 2015

Hi TeeGee, I have been suffering, and I mean seriously suffering, with this for 3 and 1/2 years with spreading sores on my face. I won't go into the drama this has caused me. I started out thinking it was a bacterial infection...lots of rounds of antibiotics-trips to urgent care centers...nothing worked. Several dermatologists visits...They were no help what so ever! I had three cultures done...not a virus, bacteria, or fungus. I was sure that it was a fungus...but oral fungal medications, creams...nothing. Had a biopsy done...they said there was nothing there and that I must be doing this to myself. I knew I wasn't. As soon as I told the dermatologist that I thought I might have some sort of parasite...scabies/demodex...something...I got the 'you must have a mental problem, you're delusional' typical response. So, I dropped it and went home in tears. I tried ivermectin, didn't really help, then albendazole...made some progress....and then I finally realized what I was dealing with and it all made sense. This is terribly embarrassing and I have never told anyone, but if it helps somebody...here goes...I picked up a tapeworm from my cat. They lay all over me and my pillows, and I guess somehow I got infected with a tapeworm larva and it spread...I ordered praziquantel pure powder (100% pure), along with some empty gelcaps and started dosing myself. That was back in August and I am making tons of progress. It won't go away over night or in two weeks. The medicine killed the larva and the cysts on my face slowly began to die. The medical information on praziquantel says that dermal lesions caused by tapeworm should subside after 5 to 6 months. Considering that I've had this for almost 4 years, and that it hasn't been a full 4 months since taking the medicine...I'm pretty happy with the results so far. I'm not saying that everyone who is dealing with white plugs in their skin that multiply has a tapeworm larva skin infection...some people might just have keratosis pilaris, some might have demodex that can be cleared up with ivermectin, it might be a yeast for some people...but for me, it was none of those things...and it wasn't discoid lupus either...something else that the dermatologist insisted that it was (even though the biopsy was negative for it). For me, it was a tapeworm that I got from a cat...and it has been a living hell...(although I will say that it was worth it because I turned to Jesus Christ for help and drew closer to Him...I wouldn't change that for anything in the world...not even scar free skin) I hope this helps somebody. God Bless!

December 15, 2015

Hi, I appreciate your info..this is the worse nightmare I've ever had. Its been 6 years with countless doctors all providing no help other than they think I'm crazy. Do you happen to have any ohotos? I appreciate anu help possible.

December 15, 2015

Hi TeeGee, I don't have any pictures other than what the dermatologist took...and I never want to see that guy again. Its difficult to describe the sores on my face because I don't know what to compare it to, it's like nothing that I have ever seen. (Several doctors said the same thing...They had never seen anything like it before...made me feel so good...that was after I had been going to doctors and dermatologists for two years begging for their help, all the while it was spreading and getting worse.) I would describe it as massive swollen lumps deep in my face, yellow ooz and eventually yellowish stringy skin, hardened skin, the small round white plugs that sometimes I could get out...sometimes I couldn't. Sometimes little white spindles sticking out of my skin, really painful but sometimes it also itched. The main thing is that it spread, under my skin...I don't know why doctors were telling me that I was doing it to myself, they could feel the deep hard cysts/nodules under my skin...how was I creating those myself...and why would I do that. I am a fairly intelligent and educated, I'm not a drinker or a drug user. I felt that after going through the typical things that might cause this...bacteria,fungal,some sort of virus, and repeated cultures proved negative for these pathogens, that it wasn't such a ridiculous stretch to consider some sort of possible parasite...something just really common and easy to pick up. I even told them about the stray cat that I rescued which might have been the source of a possible parasite. (Although at that time I was thinking tapeworm...more like some kind of mite...I didn't know what it was, but it had to be something along those lines) The doctors never once considered for a moment that it was possibly a parasite. They immediately shut that possibility down even though the numerous medical tests that I had done provided no answers and I continued to suffer (and am still suffering) as a result. Curezone has some great information and that's where I learned about praziquantel and albendazole. Please let me know if there is anything I can do, and please keep me updated. I wonder how many people are suffering with something like this who have been scorned by doctors.

Hi fab to scab, Thanks do much for the info. I truly am going crazy. I dont have a cat.. but i have been exposed to cats. helping my mom always with her 2 cats cleaning up the litter and things. So maybe i caught something like you have from the cats. I really cant stand any if these doctors. They act as if I am some crazy person in need of mental help, or that i am the cause of these lesions. I am 45 yrs old & I have raised 2 fine boys age 22 & 19.. I have never used drugs in my life. I rarely ever have a drink of alcohol other than maybe a special occication. The doctors have my chart history showing i am if soubd mind. other than this issue, yet they still treat me as if i am a crazy wacko. Really makes me so upset thinking my character is being torn into bits of crap. So Upsetting. This 6 yr battle has controled my life since it has started. i will try the info you sent in hopes i can find some help. I so appreciate you being so honest and sharing your journey. Thank You from the bottom if my heart. Thank You Thsnk You Thsnk You.

December 18, 2015

Hi TeeGee (fab-to-scab here, got my old username back) I was just thinking about you and wondering how you are feeling, both emotionally and physically. If anybody can understand the trauma that this has caused you it would probably be me. If you need someone to talk to or someone just to listen, I will.

Hi fab-to-scab, i'm pretty sure I have Demodex mite infested in my face. I've used the borax with peroxide solution and tree tea. alot of stuff came forward. not that it all came out. so now i'm stuck with what to do next.

December 20, 2015

I TeeGee, If you think that it's a demodex problem then I would definitely try the ivermectin, orally or topically or both. I took ivermectin orally and I didn't notice any side effects. You might even try some albendazole too.

December 20, 2015

Hi thanks, question? ivermectin 1.87 paste thats for horses is that correct. i did buy it..just havent used it as of yet..also what kind of albendazole should i buy?

December 20, 2015

Hi, Yeah, ivermectin 1.87 paste for horses, just make sure that it doesn't have anything else in it. I bought vetrimec paste which is good for oral use and also topically because it's kind of like a cream. I also bought Ivermectin 1.87 apple flavored gel from Durvet. It didn't taste as awful but I don't know if it would be good to use topically. If you take the ivermectin paste orally, you will most likely gag on it...it's bad. So here's a tip: get some greek yogurt (I say greek yogurt because its much thicker and works better). Here's what I did - get two spoons, dip the first spoon in the greek yogurt and coat the spoon really good. Then take the ivermectin tube and squirt the paste on top of the yogurt coating (kind of towards the tip of the spoon) Then take the second spoon and get a spoonful of yogurt and glob it on top of the ivermectin and cover the ivermectin completely with the yogurt. Have something to drink in hand, something like juice or flavored water (wouldn't do anything with fiz but that's just me) Then just take the yogurt/medicine in one big lick and shove it right to the back of your throat and swallow (kind of like the way you might lick peanut butter off a spoon)- don't try and taste anything with your tongue thought...just get it down and take a big swig of the drink...you won't taste a thing. As far as the albendazole, I used valbazen oral suspension for cattle and sheep. I bought a baby liquid syringe and measured 5 to 10 ml and took it twice a day. Its worse than the ivermectin. I don't really have any good tips for it. I guess when you have suffered with this for as long as we both have...well that was enough motivation for me. Ivermectin works best on an empty stomach and it never gave me any problems. Albendazole is a whole different ballgame. You need to take it with 30-40 or so grams of fat in order to better absorb the medicine. DO NOT take albendazole on an empty stomach!! Also, a word of caution...When the medicine starts working and these buggers start to dye...it is not pleasant. It is very very likely that you will get worse before you get better. You may want to have some benadryl, ibprofen, and possibly even some antibiotics on hand. I know it sounds crazy to be taking veterinary medicines, but for me it was either take animal medications or continue to suffer without any hope of ever getting better because doctors could not or would not help me. What other choice did I really have?

December 20, 2015

Hi, you say it will get worse before it gets better. Like for how long will that take. I mean Christmas is 5 days away. so how long does this take?

December 20, 2015

I don't know if I can really answer that, especially if we are dealing with something different. You might just try using the stuff topically at first and wait until after Christmas to take the oral medicine if you decide to do so. If you have demodex mites then the dye off reaction might not be all that severe.

Yes, I live in Florida. I understand the frustration and desperation that you feel. I really do. There is hope and you are not the only person to be going through this. I felt like I was the only person in the world to be dealing with this problem, and that nobody understood or could offer any help or answers...and it is a very lonely and scary place to be. You are the only person that I have ever shared this with because nobody else could relate. Based on what you have described and comparing it to my own problem and research, I definitely think (in my very unscientific and unprofessional opinion) that you are dealing with some sort of parasite. Don't fret, at least now you have an idea of what you are dealing with. There are several different medications that target parasites. Albendazole, Ivermectin, Praziquantel, Fenbendazole, and something else called Banocide for a fillarial worm type infection. Luckily with the advent of the internet and ebay/amazon you can get these medicines fairly easily as well as reading up on medical information. Also, something that I have not done yet but am going to start using after Christmas is lye soap. (I'm not talking about using draino on my face here...)I have layers of dead skin that I need to remove and lye soap is supposed to really help. I'll probably order 'Grandma's Lye Soap' which is for face and body. I also read a post about somebody dealing with the same issue who had hard calcified skin (which is what I'm still dealing with) who put nair on his face to let the lye dissolve the hard keratinized/calcified skin that the parasites caused. If the soap isn't strong enough then I might try that (after all, nair is something that people put on their skin to remove hair at the root...if I try it, I'll do so cautiously)

Hi, you've been so kind & helpful. Truly cant thank you enough. I live in Pennsylvania. I'm going to try the ivermectin after the holidays. I have another doctors appointment tomorrow which I'm sure he'll say I'm crazy. I'm going to order Abenzazole. Do you think thats a good idea. I hate to keep asking you all these questions, so sorry.. I just dont know snyone else to talk to that understands. Nobody in my extended family has any idea. They just think i have a cyst on either side of my face and i use a bandaid to cover it when im aroubd them. I guess not cause then everyone would have the email address on this site. Anyway thank you again for always getting back to me and for all your help. have you ever tried Black Soap i think its called Shea Moisture Black soap. or Dr Bronners Castile Soap.

December 21, 2015

Hi, you can ask me anything you want...and I wear band-aids on my face too. My husband knows somewhat as well, but I haven't told him everything because I am also too embarrassed. I didn't really go into the pain and heart ache that this has caused, but I can assure you that there is probably nothing you could say or ask that I could not relate to in some way. I hope that your doctors appointment goes well, but if he/she thinks that you are crazy just know that you most certainly are not and neither are you alone. If the doctor will not or can not treat you, (as I experienced numerous times) you can just smile and say ok and walk out of their office with hope. You can treat yourself. (What was it my dad always told me,...oh yes, "if you want something done right, do it yourself") I would go ahead and order the albendazole. Even the medical community suggests taking two medications at the same time for a better treatment. It won't hurt you, but here is the only problem (and this is what helped me to figure out what I have) Ivermectin treats mites, albendazole also treats mites and works really well for hookworms and somewhat for tapeworms. If you have demodex or a hookworm, then taking ivermectin and albendazole together is probably your best bet (I think I probably had some demodex mites as well). However, if it is a tapeworm, then ivermectin won't help and albendazole won't be enough. You will need to take praziquantel as well. Medical research and posts on curezone say that if a person has a tapeworm problem, then taking albendazole and praziquantel is the best bet. I think the ivermectin and albendazole that I started out taking worked on any demodex mites that I had, and I think the albendazole killed a good bit of the tapeworm larva that I had...it just didn't get it all. I then took the praziquantel and have made the most improvement. You can order all three of those medications from ebay. 100 grams of prazi powder is about 100 dollars on ebay, 100 dollars is a lot but not when you consider how much it would cost if you tried to order ivermectin, albendazole, and prazi tablets from some online pharmacy overseas - not to mention the safety and additional time it would take to arrive. Plus, evidence shows that the liquid albendazole is much better absorbed then the chewable tablets which are made for humans. I haven't tried the black soap but I'll try it if you think it's good. I wouldn't have a problem with giving you my email, I wonder if we can contact the administrators to exchange emails?

December 21, 2015

I just bought the black soap. It seems to help a little with skin texture, for me anyway. I cant say its done anything else. I ordered the albenzazol from ebay today. i also just got Pierce's Nu Stock. have you tried that yet? I cant say if i can see a big difference. made my skin really dry almost like leather. Don't think it has done much else. it smells like rotten eggs. I mixed it with Zinc & tree tea to help with the smell. slept with it all night on my face. what a mess.. Im not sure what anything is doing to my face really since Im putting so many different things on it. Borax, peroxide, Nu Stock, black soap, bye bye blemish, Its just everything & anything.. Im so screwed up with all this stuff, I feel like its the never ending battle..I'm going to live this life forever.. Which I cant see how the hell i can. I just want it over. i want to get up in the morning and jump in shower, get ready in 30 minutes and go. instead i take so many hours that i have to start prep the night before, which still takes me hours the next day and sometimes i take so long that i just say forget it. I hate the thought of having to go out the door. its the biggest nightmare. i feel like i'm living in a bubble. I truly hate living this way. What part of Florida are you in? I live about 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia in suburbs. Weather getting cold here.

December 21, 2015

question? before i head to the doctors today.. what can a doctor prescribe? I mean is he able? If so, I'd like to flat out ask him for it.. Do you know what's available as a medical perscription that a doctor can give?

December 22, 2015

Hi TeeGee, Gosh I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I have been thinking about you all day...how did the doctor's appointment go???? As far as what a doctor might prescribe, the three medicines that I have talked about are made for humans as well as animals. It's just that no doctor would ever consider that I was suffering from some sort of parasite and so they would never give them to me. That's when I started looking into veterinary medicines. Your description about your feelings and gettitng dressed in the morning....oh goodness...pretty much word for word how I have felt the last three years of my life. I am dreading Christmas because I am still trying to deal with the dying cysts on my face. I had it on both cheeks and on my nose. I pretty much have the spots on my left cheek and nose taken care of. The right side of my face is a different story...its Baaaaaaaad!! I live in central florida and its pretty warm here...I'm gonna open a new email account that doesn't have my name as part of the address and post it here so that maybe we can just email each other or talk on the phone if you want to. Again, I am so sorry that I am just now able to get back to you....please let me know what the doctor said.

December 22, 2015

The doctor of course thinks I'm imagining everything. He put a Qtip in the one side of my cheek where i have a hole, and said okay Tina what do you see. I said well I dont see anything on the Qtip of course... thats because I put ByeBye blemish drying sulfer in the hole so it wouldnt leak on my drive here. Like he was trying to act like I would of saw something when nothing was there. soooooo frustrating. He told me to go on Accutane & birth control pills & that will stop the acne. I said I have a Demodex & parasite, not acne. he gave me Permethrine 5% cream. I hate that they all act like were crazy. makes me so mad. I lkmow you deal with all these same things. its so overwhelming. I just hate everyday. hate getting ready, hate being invited to go anywhere, hate that family & friends think im anti social. i just hate everything. I cant wait for this to just go away and finally live like a normal person. i change hair stylist every other month so i dont fave the same stylist over and over. I wont get my eyebrows done cause i dont want anyone looking that close to me. Its such a chore to try and do anything normal. I havent gone to church in years. I was asked to leave Yoga, instructor felt i was contagious and said other clients in class were uneasy with me being there. so basically I was kicked out. How gross is that. i was totally embarressed. this like stinks and thats being nice. Jeeze, im tired of being tired. I hate hearing myself say all this crap. im just aggravated I guess. Anyway I never even ask how you are feeling. Im sure you have battles everyday as well. How do you deal with it all. Tina

December 22, 2015

Hi Tina. I really am sorry that your doctor's appointment wasn't as helpful as you had hoped, but I'm not surprised. If your spots are draining then you might need some antibiotics. It won't get rid of the parasites, but it will help the draining that you are dealing with. Something else that I thought might be a possible avenue to seek treatment, I read someone's post on some site (I think curezone) and the person described some very similar wounds and the same exact treatment from dermatologists. (I say treatment meaning the way he/she was spoken to and ignored) The person who wrote the blog said that they eventually went to a cdc office somewhere in their area. The nurse/doctor at the cdc took the person seriously and gave a diagnosis of a roundworm infection of some sort. I can seriously feel your heartache about hating everything, people thinking that you are unsocial, and being asked to leave yoga. I am so so sorry that happened to you. I get weird sneers from people and nobody wants to sit by me either. I really understand everything that you are saying and feeling because I've lived it for the past few years...and am still dealing with it. My husband got so mad at me tonight when I expressed my feelings about not wanting to go to his family's house (out of state, we always stay for a minimum of a week to ten days) I hate going, its just awful...I used to start listening to Christmas music in my car in October, now, I start dreading Christmas in September. He's a good guy, but I really wish that I wasn't married. It's bad enough to be so miserable, but I feel like I am making him miserable and ruining his life (which is exactly how his mother makes me feel). That's the worst part of it all and it just makes me want to cry every moment of every day. I look back and I don't know how I have dealt with it all, I think that I just take it literally one day, and one heart wrenching humiliating experience, at a time. I read the Bible and put trust in Jesus, and I can't help but wonder if maybe this is happening for a reason. I wish I lived closer, I'd give you a giant hug!!

December 22, 2015

Hi, I'll look into roundworm infection. Thanks for looking into it fir me.. you really are so kind..I totally understand you not wanting to go away staying at your inlaws. I wouldnt want to go either. People just dont understand the amount of heartache this is. the pain you feel is real and valid. Your mother in law doesnt understand...she probably wont ever get how ypur feel.. I know its so hard. I feel like I'm a prisnor in my house. i really dont go out the door for weeks at a time. if I do go out its mostly to doctors. I never shop at all for clothes. i buy everything online. I get my food delivered from the grocery store by online order & delivery. I wont eat at the dinner table.. I dont want to be that close to anyone having them look directly at my scars & lesions...Its s living hell.. I totally hate life & waking up everyday is nothing but more hell. I wish we lived closer so we could ay least have eachother to hang out with. that would be so great. Your husband im sure cares but just doesnt get the entire issue you deal with.. i guess its hard for orhers to understand. especially men. women care about apperance, we're judged all the time. having this issue takes the person we are away from being ourselves. Everytime i have to go to any family function at family members home. i always stay cleaning up the entire time so i dont have to stay in conversation with anyone up close. its all these measures needed to just get the event over.. I dress in only black, i never stand out. i wont wear any jewlery, i dont want any attention or reason for someone to look at me more than a second. i never have anything to say, in order to never have a conversation with anyone. this is just a terrible life. depressing everyday & all day. i cant wait till night when my family all go to bed so i can sit in peace without feeling so ugly in front of them. its so hard.. i feel so superficial.. Thanks for the Hug & im sending you a Hug back.. Thank you for hearing me. i really feel better getting this off my chest.. i cant explain how much it means to me. I wish i could help you in someway.. Tina

December 24, 2015

Hey girl, I'm in such a rotten mood...I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you. The thought of going to spend Christmas with my husband's relatives makes me want to cry. He has lots of nieces and nephews and you know how kids are...they stare and ask questions like, "what's wrong with your face" I know what I'm dealing with now, but I didn't figure it out soon enough to get it all healed before Christmas. It's so humiliating. I don't necessarily wear black all of the time but I do always always wear a ball cap. It's kind of like when you're a kid and you hide under the covers because you think there is something in the room. Like, if I hide under the covers and I can't see them, then they can't see me...I just put on a ball cap, pull the bill down low, and keep my head down. I only look up when I need to see something. I can only see a few feet in front of me, but it's usually enough to keep me from running into things (usually). I always do the dishes too, so much so that I'm referred to as "the dishwasher". Anything that keeps me from having to interact. My husband is so mad and frustrated with me and I don't blame him. I really don't know if we will stay together. I just want to cry. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. How are you feeling??

December 24, 2015

Hey, Dont apologize.. I totally understand.. this mess we deal with takes the life out of us.. i understand.. it takes control over ever part of daily life. always a huge effort just to get out the door. you not wanting to go to your in laws is totally understandable to me.. i get it.. i know what you mean about kids asking questions..you have to smile & act like it doesn't bother you. when deep down you want to crawl under a rock and hide. My nieces always ask me if my sore face will ever get better... they want to know why i'm always wearing bandaids. your husband just doesnt realize the amount of pain it is for you to deal with his family right now. i'm sure he sees your beauty under the sores.. so he probably doesnt feel its that bog of a deal.. how long have you giys been married & do you have children? Just wondering.. I'm married almost 21 years. We have 2 sons, 22 & 19.. my younger son still in college (Penn State) he's on Penn States ice hockey team.. He's home now for the winter break.. first thing he asked me was "Mom Jeeze, you still have those things on your face" well yeah i do, why else would i wear bandaids. It makes me so upset.. now Christmas is Friday & once again, I look like a freaking monster.. believe me, i'm with you, i dont want to go anywhere. Thank god its cold here, i wear a scarf wrapped around my neck with sun glasses.. like you, i think i'm hiding and nobody can see me since im covering the best i can. thats if or when i do get out yhe door. I think ive bern out the house maybe 6 or 7 times since August. I just stay home, i shower for like 3 to 4 hours, then mess with my face more after my shower trying to find ways to cover lesions.. then im so aggravated i just stay in..If we lived closer we could just hang out...we wouldnt feel uncomfortable around each other. I thank god i have you to talk to.. ive been living in silence for years. its such a relief to talk to someone who understands. so what will you do? will you have to go to your in laws & stay for the holidays?

Hi Tina, If you want to send me a quick email at alliwelsh444 (at sign) g mail . com (no spaces) That way I will have your email and I can just reply to you there, I'd be happy to give you my cell too if you want it so that we can talk some time. I know it's Christmas Eve, and Merry Christmas by the way. I know its Christmas Eve and probably not a time when you want to be on the phone talking to a stranger, but if you need support in a moment's notice, you can always send a text (I'd be like your on call support). Then if you ever have free time, and you would like to talk, we can. Maybe for Christmas this year, we both got a new friend.

Hi TeeGee and Spottyface1, I too have some sort of parasitic skin manifestation - though I have accompanying GI issues as well - which lead me to believe this was parasitic fairly early on. I have tried Ivermectin for 3 weeks, and although I seemed much better when on it, my symptoms returned when I stopped taking it. I tried a combination of albendazol, ivermectin, and doxy for a week, but the dye off was so intense that I stopped, i wish i had had the balls to see it through. I went to see a LLMD (lyme literate MD) and though I don't seem to have Lyme disease, I did show high antibodies for anaplasmosis, another tick borne disease, but also transmitted through other parasites. Since it appears to be an active infection they are currently treating me with doxy for the anaplasmosis and then will start a broad spectrum anti parasitic protocol, which switches different anti parasitics every two weeks. The skin around my eyes, and my cheeks are mostly affected at the moment, and I can clearly see white "plugs" or worms embedded in the skin. When I took ivermectin for the first time they seemed "dried up" and were coming out easily without damaging my skin. I started Ivermectin again a few days ago because it seemed to be spreading but the effect is not as strong or sudden this time around unfortunately. Spotty face, are you still on antiparasitics? TeeGee any results for ou

December 15, 2015

Hi, Thank You.. Do you have any photos of what you had on your face?

June 17, 2016

You have given me hope. Could you please let me know how things have turned out for you? It's been over 7 years for me that I have had those mites! I feel like it's never going to end. Would love to talk and get more info!

January 15, 2015

I agree that you should consider asking your doctor about Demodex and Morgellons. If you look them up, its an interesting read.

January 15, 2015

Yes you have done a good job by immediately consulting to the doctor, as the medicines will give you the relief in no time. Because the pain that happens is not bearable. so, its better to consult the doctor. http://www.cellublue.com/

Hi, I'm a 54 year old woman who has MRSA. It's a staph infection. I'm on my 3rd round of antibiotics. I just wanted to let u know that essential oils helped a lot . With pain and the looks of sores and athletes feet . I think it would have cured it if I didn't pick and if I hadn't run out of money and oil at the same time

December 14, 2015

I have same issue. will your directions cure this abd if so how fast

December 16, 2015

Hello all. I am one of the therapists here at skinpick.com. I am so sorry you are all having such a traumatic time with this problem. There seems to be a general theme here of health professionals not listening or taking your concerns seriously. It amazes me that full symptomatic and background history was not considered. I hope you all find the answers you need to overcome this. Best of luck to you all!

December 17, 2015

thank you Tasneem, its been a terrible experience. sad knowing doctors being professionals treat people this way. I can say the lost of trust is an under statement. Doctors are suppose to try to help people, not mistreat people.

Hi Healthyagain, I am very sorry to hear that you are suffering with this terrible condition. I wouldn't wish it on anybody. I had some luck with praziquantel, which I took about 6 months ago. I recently started using Lye soap and it has made a big difference. In conjunction with the lye soap, I have also started taking Fenbendazole which seems to be effective in knocking out what the praziquantel did not get. I will probably continue with the fenbendazole and I might also redose myself with praziquantel at some point (the prazi. made me so sick at my stomach...I hated it. No huge side effects from the fenbendazole). I think that I was so heavily infested that I'm going to have to do some maintenance dosing, at least for a while. I am definitely doing better and I'm on the right track. I found lots of information about fenbendazole on various forums such as curezone and lymebusters. I've also read that a lot of people who are suffering with morgellons have had some huge success with fenbendazole. What parasite medications are the doctors going to have you take? I'm actually amazed that you found a doctor who is willing to treat you for parasites...most of them refuse to acknowledge or diagnose a patient with parasites. I hope that the medications that you are prescribed will work for you and that you are able to annihilate and obliterate the buggers!! I definitely suggest that you try the lye soap...it really does work (kinda burns...but not to badly.) I bought grandma's old-fashioned lye soap from amazon. I think it was like 10 or 12 dollars for two bars...it's not expensive and the bars should last you a while. My heart goes out to you and I will pray that you are healed quickly from this mess!!

March 31, 2016

Hi Spottyface, Thanks for your fast reply. I have read about Fenbendazole. I think some people combating strongyloides are having success with it. My general physician definitely did not want to entertain the idea of parasites, like most Docters I think. I looked for an LLMD specifically because they tend to be more open minded and experimental with medications. Lyme is a parasite... So they are OK talking about parasites. The down side is that LLMDs often do not take insurance so the bills can start adding up. I experimented on my own with Ivermectin paste before seeing the LLMD, but felt more comfortable experimenting with different drugs under the care of a physician so that's why I'm going this route. I will definitely give the lye soap a try, thanks for recommending that. I experimented for the first time yesterday with MMS, one drop, and could notice a big difference right away. I did have terrible die off symptoms so I think I will try a half or even a quarter drop next in a few days. I had an LLMD appointment today and my Dr said that she knows of several patients of hers that take it with successful results. It's a controversial supplement though. What helped today with die off symptoms is a product called Takesumi, something my LLMD carries. It's bamboo charcoal that you mix into water and it binds the toxins that are released with the die off so you aren't reabsirbing them. I'm sure you should be able to order online somewhere. For the next few weeks I am finishing the Doxy for the anaplasmosis. Then will revisit the anti parasitic protocol. My Dr said that it isn't unusual to have to do several rounds since it is hard to pin point exactly what parasite is causing all the upheaval and could also be a combination of parasites. For the next few weeks I'll experiment a little more with the MMS at lower doses. Will keep you posted! I'm happy to have someone to share this with - it's been scary and lonely at times as I know you can relate to!
