Does your scalp ever heal?

I've been picking at my scalp for a year now and it's starting to have a really bad effect. My hair feels a lot thinner and I'm scared that it's all gonna fall out. I'm prepared to stop completely, but when I do will it grow back to normal?

I pick at my scalp too, especially if I feel a bump or scab... I've used a tea tree oil shampoo to help the healing process . I've also rubbed straight tea tree oil on the scabs or weeping areas . Neem oil also helps too. I hope this helps

Hi. When my sister faced this issue, she used Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera contains enzymes that directly promote healthy hair growth. Another ingredient that can relieve an itchy scalp is baking soda. I also found on the web

If you're picking as a response to an itchy scalp, I would recommend a shampoo like Head & Shoulders or T-Gel. In term's of hair growing back, its hard to tell. I have been picking for about 18 years now and have had bald spots where hair grows back. I guess it really depends on how much damage you do to the hair follicles.
