Ever since I was 3 I always had this habit of rubbing my thumbs together because if felt good like I was scratching an itch. It would get to the point where I did it so much they started developing calluses. The calluses makes it so I can't feel the itching feeling when I rub them together. So then I'll take nail clippers and clip the callus off down to the pink sensitive skin and then rub my thumbs together which hurts but feels good at the same time. It gets worse when my anxiety acts up because I do it subconsciously then and I hate it but I can't stop. Anyone else do something similar or am I alone on this?
