Feet Picking

Hi, I'm a newbie here. I'm 23 years old woman who picks at the skin under my feet. I didn't think this was a problem or big deal, but after looking at them now, I ask WHY? Idk, but does anybody else do this?

I used to do this, when I had little holes in the skin of the heel or whatever I would pull it until I could get a lot of skin off... then I realized I pulled off some of the really thick skin and so it started to hurt to walk... Now I try not to pay too much attention to my feet (no pedicures, wearing socks, etc.) so I don't have time to start to pick and pull at the skin the wrong way, but I just pick at my hands and face instead I guess.

I've only recently learned about CSP, and discovered that I have it, but when I was younger, probably no older than 10 (I'm now in college), I used to spend up to an hour each day picking at the skin on the bottoms of my feet and cutting it off with nail clippers. It used to hurt so badly, and I eventually would have trouble walking without obviously limping. I never knew why I did it either. When I hit puberty and started getting acne, I started picking at my face, and later on I extended to my neck, shoulders, chest, and back, too. I don't know how or when I stopped picking at my feet, but I wish I could figure it out so I could stop picking everywhere else!

I have been picking on my feet, lips, and cuticles for as long as I can remember. I want to stop but it seems that it's physically impossible! I quit smoking 3 packs of cigarettes a day going on a year and 1/2 now...why can't I stop picking!?
