Treatment

I am brand new and my story is posted in the 40 day challenge forum. I need support and help and I was wondering what everyone is doing for treatment? Any advice will help. I need to take control. I could really use a support buddy. I have never talked to anyone in my life who struggles with this.

i provided a guide that has helped me in the topic --------------------------------->> http://www.skinpick.com/node/922--------->> i have also posted a number of topics that i feel are helpful ..... others have as well ... there's a wealth of information in this forum and on the menus of this site ... there are other sites also that have all kinds of information .... stoppickingonme.com is one of the sites and it has an online book as well as topics in the discussion menu .... there's no quick fix, but surely you can get a good understanding from investigating these areas and can choose a plan that you feel would suit you best .... all the best to you .... <3

Ok....deep breath.......This is the first time I am ever admitting tis to anyone else but I pick at my arms constantly, to the point of having scabs covering my entire upper arm. It is so embarassing trying to come up with excuses of why I am wearing long sleeves in the summer and I live in Florida so it gets pretty hot. About 20 days ago I decided that I had enough and have not picked at my arms at all. My scabs have pretty much gone away at this point for the first week and a half I washed my arms with a facial acne wash patted dry then put neosporin on the scabs and I did this every morning and every night before bed. Now I am still washing twice a day and using Clinique 7 day scrub every other night then applying Eucerin intensive therapy. I have noticed that exercising helps distract me I find that I pick when i am either stressed or bored and going to the gym helps me with both of those issues. I am a little frustrated though becuase I still have those nastly little red bumps that I am dying to pick, but I am going to be strong! Does anyone know when the bumps finally start to disappear? I am thinking about buying a cute little sundress and hanging it in my bathroom (which was where I did most of my picking) to keep me motivated. I really like the positive attitudes and support on this site and I hope to overcome this disease one day. My skin is by no means perfect yet but it is so much better then it was before!

Hey, I totally have the same problem on my arms and legs - it's called Keratosis Pilaris. It may or may not go away. I pick at it too. After a picking session, I rub my arms or legs with Noxema 2% salicylic acid pads and then maybe some Yes To Carrots Body Butter - it has lots of healthy stuff in it and smoothes the bumps (it's actually the best thing I've found so far - and I've tried everything, including chemical peels on my arms). Good luck.
