Foundation primer or oil control cream?

Hi, I was wondering what everyone puts on their faces before putting on foundation? I am using an oil control moisturizer before I put on my foundation. Is it better to use a foundation primer?

i use cetaphil daily moisturizer, wait 5 mins or so, and then put on my korres vitamin e face primer and wait another 5 before putting on my mineral powder foundation. nothing is for oil control, but when i need to blot my nose or my forehead i usually use a tissue or some tp and the primer keeps all the makeup in place but the oil/sweat comes right off.

How much does that Korres primer cost? Where can I buy that? Do they sell primers at Walmart? Because I was looking in Walmart for primers but didn't find any...which section do they sell primers?

you cant get it at walmart, unfortunately. the 1.1 oz tube goes for $28 at sephora, seems pricey but you use the tiniest amount and the tube lasts forever. literally like 4 months. i found it on amazon once though, the same size for like $10 and ordered it. it was exactly the same thing. maybe it is still on there.

Okay, thanks! I really need to use a primer instead of cream. Even though it's an oil control cream, I find my makeup starts sliding off as I sweat during this heat! I have to apply my foundation twice daily because of it.

yeah i used to just use a moisturizer, i live in the midwest and right now it is in the 100 degrees and muggy as ever. the primer really really works, wierdly well. i dont even touch it up throughout the day even though i sweat constantly. just blot off the sweat and oil and im good to go !

You should and I recommend you use a moisturiser with a sun protector that works also as a base for foundation. I am from England so you may not have this product where you are, it is called 'Olay' Complete Care SPF 15 day lotion. I have been wearing this for many years and it never caused any spots. It is also silky smooth and makes foundation glide on much easier. I find that using a mineral foundation powder is an ideal foundation that gives good coverage and is quick and easy to use. I find it works best applied after I applied Olay moisturiser. It can also come in a cream formula with SPF which is ideal during the winter. The moisturiser benefits with added Vitamins and protects you from the sun as foundation does not protect you from the sun and without sun protection, it will cause scars and discolouration to only darken areas and wrinkle/highlight marks.

Thank you for the information. They sell Olay of Olay products here in Canada, as well, so I will buy some. I never tan my face anymore in the sun, I always wear a hat in the sun. And when I tan my body, I cover my face with a hat. Sun exposure is really bad for scarred skin. So I don't want to make my skin worse than it already is!
