need to heal sores quickly

I have a few sores, I know some are infected - using neosporin but need to heal these fast. Have a mammogram and follow up in a couple weeks. I want these to be gone... If I can just get rid of these - then I can concentrate better on not making new ones. some are on my breast and my upper arm and back so they will be very visible during mammogram. any ways to help heal sore quickly? If I put a bandage on it it just stays moist and all the infection on top....then I want to pick that off.. I am new to THIS board but have been reading about this for some time. I want to stop, it hurts to pick - one side of my brain says stop, but nothing stops me... I just want these healed now... myfaith3701

Lots of people on here use calamine lotion! But your surest way of getting your wounds to heal is to NOT PICK AT ALL! (I know it's hard, I'm in the same boat, but it's true.) Good luck with your mammogram! :)

I know it's kind of putting a mental "bandaide" on the problem, but if you know that you can't stop cold turkey, rotate somewhere else. My arms have been getting bad, so I wear long sleeves and I accept picking my legs until my arms have healed. Then of course, I need to work on my legs! Today is day 3 I have not picked. That is like 20 years in a picker's world!

Also, I dab peroxide on the really red ones. To me it takes a lot of the redness out and I'm less likely to pick at it.

Please be careful putting peroxide on your skin, especially if your putting it on open wounds, It can do some real harm to your skin, I know a few people including my mother who have been burnt from peroxide. It is a chemical and can do serious damage. A really good solution, finding an anti bacterial cream, I find if I wash the cuts (mine are on my face) with a gentle wash before I go to bed, and use an anti fungal cream, its purpose is for athletes foot and other similar things but works amazingly, as well as an antiseptic cream to help numb any pain or itching, smear a thik layer over my cuts, and by the morning they have reduced more then I thought possible in one night, I find it doesnt work as well if your dont wash the area first. But within a week, the cuts I haven't picked are basically gone.. Id give that a try :)
