a way to close open sores

When my open sore is at the point of being able to be pinched closed, I put a dab of super glue with a q-tip to the middle of the wound. ( it does not burn or sting) pinch it closed and hold it for 10 to 15 seconds. It closes it so it will heal faster. Nothing worse than an open oozing sore. It closes easier if the sore is very moist from being covered all day with neosporin and a bandaid. Sure it is a little bit crusty but much more attractive than an open sore. Don't pick the crust! Maybe do this before you go to bed to wake up to a more closed/ healed sore. Good luck and God bless. We are all in this together.

Hi there! I am no medical professional, but I honestly don't think that you should be using super glue on an open wound. I believe that it has chemicals in it that could be absorbed through your skin and/or could cause an infection. My suggestion would be to use gentle cleanser and then Neosporin overnight. At least this type of ointment should prevent an infection. Good luck!

Please never ever shut a open sore with glue especially not super glue. The glue will enter your skin and be a part of your skin. Try a bandaid or just leave your skin alone until it heals naturally. Glue going inside your skin is very dangerous and can lead to infections. The glue will be a part of your skin and stay there forever. It does not even close open sores properly. Do not pick anything please I beg you do not use glue on your body for any reason.

Using super glue is an effective way to close a wound and help it heal, the only problem with it, is that you CAN NOT put super glue on an infected wound. It will not heal and just harbor the infection. If your cut is clean and healthy and healing, putting super glue to close it up isnt a problem. But I would suggest a product called NewSkin. Its a thick clear liquid you brush over a cut to seal and disinfect it. After a few days it will flake off and your skin will be healed. Literally Newskin heals my open cuts after 2-3 nights with it on. Good luck!

Did not expect the feedback that I got. When you go to the doctor and you think you need a stitch and they can't get a stitch or its not able to take a stitch what did they do? They super glue it shut. I'm not talking about super gluing an infected red swollen sore. When your cuts or stores are at the point where they are not red but can be pinched closed that is when I super glue shut. If you don't want to do it you don't have to I was just suggesting something that might help someone else. In my 30 years of injuring myself super glue has never negatively affected me. In the morning the shower makes super glue pop right off and I reseal before I leave the house.

I was really happy to find this site, Im in my late twenties and i have picked my skin and hair since my mom died when i was 9. Mostly i pick my acne which is usually moderate but even if nothing is there i will go crazy and mess up face and not want to leave the house. Recnetly its gottwn alot worse, because i am older and everyone around me is done with puberty and has clear skin but i walk around with scabby red spots on my face. It looks even worse if i try and cover them up. I have had a cyst above my eyebrow for a couple months, i stoppd messing with it but it stayed for a while, i pushed on it a couple days ago and a bunch of stuff came out, I cleaned it with alcohol and pushed again and ripped my skin off. Now I have a huge raw circle on my face, its very red and it isnt scabbing at all. It just looks raw and red, Ive been putting hydrocoritzone cream and neosporin on it. I am going to try caladryl also. Should this be scabbing? what shud i do to heal it without another scar?
