First time posting

Just joined, I Have been picking my skin since childhood like many of us. I will bit the insides of my cheeks when in class when bord. I pick at my scalp when reading. I pick at my cutiles and sometimes my nails. I pick at the acne on my face and back. I'm about to graduate from college, so perhaps that's why it's been particulary persistent recently. I feel like I've got a lot of the picking areas covered. I'm going to make an effort to find something else to do with my extra energy. I've tried chewing gum in that past, but that doesn't work forever... hopefully writing and reading about it will.

I'm worried I have too many areas to pick at, but If others on here can stop so can I.

i, too, picked at many sites on my body and for many many years and i made it 7 weeks without picking, so yes, it is possible to stop. i had a very minor setback and am going to be successful at not picking again and hope to go longer than 7 weeks. if i can do that once, i can do that again. and i can say that even though before my first 7 weeks i was like most people here, that is, unable to stop picking for even one day !! so yes, it is possible to stop. what i did, as i describe in my other topics here in this forum, was after a good scare, i got serious, did research, found this site, and made a commitment here and to myself and stopped. and if i can do it, being a veteran picker, just about anyone can.
