New to the forum, finally ready to admit I need help!

Hi all I'm a 25 year old girl from london, and it's time to come clean and admit I'm a 'picker'. My legs are my problem, been going on for about 8 years now on and off... I just cannot stop picking every time I get spots from shaving, an ingrown hair or anything! I really want to find a way to help me through this, it's been long enough and I'm so sick of feeling so ashamed every time I do it. I know it's wrong, but I can't help myself. Not sure what the next step is really, but I guess this is the first right?? Any suggestions anyone has I would greatly appreciate!! J x

Hi! I'm from Massachusetts. I'm also 25 and have been picking at my legs for about the past 8 years. Same thing from shaving and ingrown hairs. I started wearing pants that had a drawstring when I sleep so that I can tie them tight enough that I can't get at my legs to pick them. I try t use a body wash and lotion that is super moisturizing to make my legs smother. I was thinking of trying cotton gloves when I sleep and maybe even rubber gloves when I shower. Haven't tryed it yet tho. I've been doing the 2 week challenge. Its day 4! I've been doing pretty well! Not Perfect, but alot better. I'm hoping I can keep it up. I don't know if I'll ever get rid of most of the scars tho. I havent been able to wear a bathing suit without board shorts in a while and that bothers me.

Good for you! it sounds so silly, to be up to day 4 and be so proud of the fact that we havent picked, but for us its a big deal!! My first test is today/tonight... I find i do it more at nihghts when Im getting changed for bed nd things like that, or when i come home from a day at work all I want to do is lock myself away and pick for a bit, almost like a stress relief exercise.... but tonight, hopefully I make a conscious effort not to do it! You go for it girl, keep me updated! :)
